DIGITAL LEARNING is now @ UNEP

About Digital Learning

Now that the Philippine Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) is encouraging colleges and universities in using Information & Communication Technology (ICT) as an effective teaching/learning tool, the University of Northeastern Philippines (UNEP) is now integrating eLearning or UNEP call as DIGITAL LEARNING in their curricula to enhance the caliber of their students.

This proven aid to quality education is a computer-based system designed to help students gain knowledge and acquire skills in the use of the knowledge.

Process

Delivery of lessons and testing of competence and proficiency are conducted in the UNEP’s Laboratory wherein each pair of student and computer functions as a virtual classroom dedicated to the individual learner. Consequently, the learning process is tutorial, one-on-one and self-paced. And because the use of computers allows immediate feedback on student performance, areas of weakness are readily identified for prompt remediation.

Cutting-Edge Technologies

For easier and faster absorption and lasting recall the system makes use of the magic of interactive multimedia, hyper linking, real-time voice recognition and voice analysis, simulations of true –to-life situations, role-playing, and multi-tasking.

Presentations are combinations of Video Lectures accompanied by textual content supported by rich graphic illustrations or full color 3D animation.

Features

» To sharpen the communication skills in English the software compels the learner to listen to, read, write, and speak exclusively in said language.

» By clicking on any word found in the text of a lesson the system's dictionary instantly flashes on the computer screen the spelling, part of speech and meaning of the word. with another click the word's correct pronunciation plays back as many times as desired by the learner.

» For deeper understanding and lasting recall students are allowed to replay of any part of a lesson any number of times.

» Hyper linking provides fast cross referencing of information.

» To dissuade students from trying to cheat, the software randomizes the test questions and the sequencing of possible answers.
